Connecting a 55-inch QLED TV confirmed launch in India

The next product from OnePlus' smartphone is the highly anticipated OnePlus on TV. Smart TV is due out sometime in September next month and will be introduced exclusively in India before it makes its way to other markets.

After that, Amazon India allows users to register their interest in OnePlus TV through a dedicated page on the Store Site.

Now, OnePlus has confirmed that it will bring the 55-inch model of the OnePlus TV to India. According to previous reports, the company is working on different variants of OnePlus TV systems in different markets. So, while India will get the 55-inch QLED model, regions like the UK and US will likely get the 75-inch variant.

  • OnePlus on TV will have a "unique" Android TV - whatever that means

Divorce on TV powered by Google Android TV

In an interview with Gadgets360Please, CEO Pete Lau has revealed that OnePlus TV is powered by Google TV's Android and there will be an "improvement" of the interface. While it was just a rumor earlier, Lau's confirmation means the upcoming TV will have access to more than 5000 apps from the Google play store.

In addition, he also noted that the company has already signed agreements with content providers in India to integrate more titles for its smart TVs.

He also revealed that Reliance Deception was already testing his retinue of deception apps with OnePlus TV and it is expected that the smart TV will come with these apps.

Lau also clarified that the OnePlus TV is meant for premium viewing and is up against the likes of Samsung and Sony TVs. And while the price may be on the affordable side, "it won't be half the price," Lau said.
