Lenovo has launched two new gaming laptops as part of its legion of products. The Legion Y740 and Legion Y540 were both showcased at CES 2019 earlier this year alongside a slew of Legion-branded devices including monitors as well as gaming accessories.
At present, the laptop brand in India, Lenovo dominates the personal computer area of more than 46% of the market, and with the Legion series, it's just looking to strengthen its gaming portfolio in India.

Lenovo Legion Y740
Legion Y740 are made of aluminum and covered with black anodizing. It weighs 2,2 kg and measures 2,38 cm at its thickest point. It features a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) anti-glare screen that has a 144Hz refresh rate and supports Dolby vision for HDR gaming. The screen on the laptop with minimal bezels, like the 720p webcam has been re-installed on the bottom bezel, allowing for an immersive viewing experience.
The Lenovo Legion Y740 is configured with the latest 9th generation Intel Core i7-9750H processor and can be paired with RTX 2060, RTX 2070 with Max-Q or RTX 2080 with Max-M graphics. The laptop supports up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 1TB and an M.2 SSD for storage.
The audio system on the Y740 is Dolby Atmos tuned to provide an unrivaled aural experience while gaming. In addition, the laptop is equipped with a full-size IUEC Corsair RGB gaming keyboard with 100% anti-ghosting and less than 1ms response time.
Features Y740 Legion Cooling Cooling front, which uses a dual-channel system that cools the CPU and GPU separately. Each channel has 70 fan blades with a dedicated keyboard heatsink. The four air vents on the Legion Y740 receive an RGB lighting treatment that enhances its gaming aesthetics.
Most I/O ports are located on the back of the laptop. They include three USB 3.1 ports, one HDMI input, one RJ45 LAN port, one mini display port, a USB Type-C port and a 3,5mm headphone jack.
Lenovo Y540 Legion
Unlike the Y740, the Legion's Y540 is a slightly more affordable laptop and therefore has a plastic reason. The Y540 doesn't look like a gaming laptop from the outside, as it has been stripped of the RGB Goddess for a more elegant profile.
It features a 15.6-inch Full HD anti-glare touchscreen with a 144Hz refresh rate and minimal bezels. The Y540 is powered by a 9th generation Intel Core i7-9750H processor and is paired with up to 6Gbps RTX 2060 graphics cards.
The Legion Y540 comes with 16GB of RAM and an upgrade to 32GB along with a 1TB SSD for onboard storage. It is equipped with two Harman Kardon speakers with support for Dolby Atmos.
The laptop also has 100% anti-ghosting with gaming keyboards and supports backlit white color.
Lenovo Y740 Legion & Y540 pricing and availability
The Lenovo Legion Y740 is priced starting at Rs 1,29,990 while the Legion Y540 starts at Rs 69,990 in India. Both laptops are available for purchase from the Lenovo store in India, major online and offline stores across India.
