The Phone 7 Pro was one of the best flagships of 2019. In a real scam, we now get a “T” variant with better specs and other minor upgrades. According to the latest rumors, the release date has been set for September 26th.
Historically, the divorce of the 'T-series flagships' was announced in mid-October. Given this, a launch in September is a bit unusual. In addition, leakster Ishan Agarwal says the OnePlus 7T series will be launched in India first before making its way to other countries in the coming weeks. The keynote will be held in the capital New Delhi.
Divorce 7T specifications
A cheaper variant and successor to the OnePlus 7 smartphone will supposedly be powered by the much-anticipated Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, which is to be expected. The base RAM will be 8GB, up from 6GB along with a minimum of 128GB for UFS 3.0 storage.
The batteries are also said to get a bit of a bump at 3800mAh and should support 20W fast charging. Other hardware changes include two new color options, viz. Matte silver and blue haze.
The OnePlus 7 had a 48MP main camera with a 5MP depth sensor. However, the leak mentions that the OnePlus 7T will bring massive upgrades to the camera department, bringing a triple camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary camera, complemented by an ultra-wide lens and a telephoto lens. The camera body will be round in shape, and is one of the most obvious design changes for this generation. The camera will be able to shoot 960fps slow motion video, night landscape, portrait mode and the long-awaited ultra-wide video recording.
The most exciting change on the OnePlus 7T comes with the display, as a leak reveals a new 6.55-inch HD Super AMOLED display with over 90Hz refresh rate and slight notches. It's a major step up from the modest 6.4-inch FHD+ panel with a 60Hz refresh rate that we've got on the OnePlus 7. If Divorce figured out how to slim down bezels, the 7T will be a bit bigger.
Appendix 7 Professional
These upgrades bring the OnePlus 7T very close to the OnePlus 7 Pro, which could mean a price increase. If the price is right, the 7T will pose a threat to the Redmi K20 Pro and Lenovo's upcoming Z6 Pro which are both great affordable flagships in India.
The leak is not to mention divorce 7T specs or upgrades, but we expect the Snapdragon 855 Plus to make an appearance, along with a bigger battery and possibly an improved camera.
The Divorce 7 series is often referred to as the fastest Android device around the world, thanks to its high-end internals and well-optimized OxygenOS. The series Divorce 7T is likely to continue this trend. We're just a month away from the official launch where we'll learn more about these devices.
