Three 5g: devices, phones, speeds, prices and everything you need to know

In the UK, mobile operator three launched a 5G network in the UK in August 2019, with its ultra-fast wireless home broadband now available.

That's when there'll be everything you need to know about the Three by 5G network, including upcoming mobile launches, phones, deployment locations, pricing, and more.

What is 5g?

5G is the name for the next generation of mobile communications that promises faster speeds, lower latency, and a more stable signal than ever before.

It works concurrently with both 3G and 4G services, so those shouldn't be affected unless you want to switch right away.

5G requires new hardware, either a specific, supported smartphone or mobile broadband router for the bandwidth it uses. The opportunities are great, however, with 5G services to enhance mobile and even home gaming, incredible upload and download speeds, and provide seamless, always-on internet connectivity for smart home appliances and even cars.

How fast three 5g be?

We have yet to see the three networks in full action, so can't give you any Real Madrid speed at this time. We will bring you more when we tested the network ourselves as it expands to a wider range of regions.

However, Three himself claims that his network has the potential to be the fastest of all the major providers, including OO, Vodafone and O2.

This is because it keeps the spectrum in the 140MHz block, including access to 100MHz adjacent black, which is potentially capable of delivering faster 5G speeds. Other operators hold 40 MHz and 50 MHz blocks.
