“I am very proud of the team. I want to talk about the Echo studio… it's incredible what the team has done,” Bezos said.

"[Studio] $200 price does many $500 products [although] we have equal pride in all the products and services we've launched]."

In addition, Bezos told a group of reporters that Amazon is working on proposed rules in common with facial recognition technology.

“Our public policy team is working on the rules for facial recognition, and it makes a lot of sense to regulate this,” Bezos said.

“This is a great example of something that has a positive purpose, so you don't want to slow it down.

"At the same time, there is potential for abuse, which means you want regulation."
