Special edition small Jaguar sedan will be limited to 200 units
The Limited-Running Jaguar Xe Rheims Edition is the first in a series of so-called 'Jaguar' factory specials' that each object has an individual detail.
The Xe Reims Edition is named after the Jaguar D-type that maiden victory in 1954 at 12 o'clock Reims and uses the creator's French racing blue paint, previously only used on extreme models such as the limited fast and XFR-C.
Offered exclusively with the pistol P250 2,0-litre Ingenium petrol engine in R-dynamic with mask, the He Rheims Edition includes, along with blue paint, a black roof, black mirrors, black side skirts inserts and 19 inches of gloss black alloys.
Other standard features include tinted windows, badge removal, heated seats and a cold climate package that includes a heated windshield, heated steering wheel, and headlight washers.
The 200-block limited edition follows the launch of the updated XE standard in February. The update includes tweaked styling, a better-equipped interior and a package of driver-centric instrumentation, controls and technology originally brought to market with the Jaguar i-Pace.
Jaguar XE's Reims Edition is priced at £38,295, £3740 more than Xe's special commission starting price.
Jaguar will be hoping Xe Rheims issuing sales rolls across the board for its smallest sedan, which has struggled in recent years. In 2016, 24,461 units were sold in Europe, and in 2018, only 10,877 units were sold. In comparison, there were 106.991 BMW 3 Series sold in Europe last year.
Jaguar D-type first victory in 1954 at 12 o'clock Reims piloted by Ken Wharton and Peter Whitehead performing over 2000 km at an average speed of 105mph.
