Oppo aims to capture a large part of the European market. And not intending to do so half measures. In mid-December, the companies showed an under-screen camera in a prototype phone, according to Engadget.
The same report confirms that this prototype is a forerunner of the Find X2, a sequel to the groundbreaking Find X original that featured a pop-up mechanical camera.
With a sub-screen camera, of course, you don't need to find the X2, for the same mechanism as its predecessor, which should save production costs and, in theory, reduce the cost of the phone. This is a critical way to get people to pay attention.
From the news at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit, we knew that Oppo held a phone upcoming in the first quarter of 2020, which will use the Snapdragon 865 chipset. And it looks like the phone will find X2.
Oppo's device has more eye-catching waist points too: Sony's ordering a sensor to mount the rear camera should mean faster autofocus thanks to omnidirectional phase-detection autofocus.
So when will we see OPPO Find X2 right? All bets at Mobile World Congress 2020 (WMC) based in Barcelona, Spain in mid-February. That's when we can bring you the full inside story about this new device.
