Oops: Motorola delays pre-order and launch of RAZR foldable phones

Motorola recently unveiled the foldable RAZR was supposed to go up pre-order on December 26th, allowing customers to buy the phone early and then on Friday it will officially launch a couple of weeks later. This plan has already been dropped.

Motorola has announced a delay in pre-order and launch. He said that the new RAZR has already "received maximum excitement and interest" and that "demand has been strong and, as a result, supply forecasts have quickly outgrown." Therefore, I decided to "adjust the pre-sale of the phone and time to better meet consumer demand." There is no word yet on when the new pre-order date or even the launch date will be announced.

Here is Motorola's full statement about the RAZR launch delay on this:

“Since its announcement in November, the new Motorola RAZR has received unprecedented hype and interest from consumers. Demand was strong and, as a result, supply forecasts quickly outgrew them. Motorola has decided to adjust the RAZR C presale and launch time to better meet consumer demand. We are working to determine the appropriate number and schedule to ensure that more consumers have access to the vending machine at launch. We do not expect a significant shift from our original availability timelines."

Is one of the more interesting phones to appear last year with the RAZR, inspired by the original Moto RAZR phone. It should be smart, however, and equipped with a 6.2-inch touch screen and run on Android. It will cost $1499 and will be sold exclusively through Verizon in the US.

The design of the RAZR differs from existing foldables such as the Galaxy Fold in that it folds horizontally rather than vertically across the display. However, recent leaks suggest Samsung is currently developing a clamshell sash that will fold down in the same way as a clamshell.
