This suggests that inner peace does not eliminate your problems. It doesn't remove the national issues that affect you, or just instantly solve all the puzzles in your life.

Notice again that it doesn't just say "stressors" here, but "potential stressors." What does it mean?

Everyone knows that life is not a bed of roses, so even if someone happens to be on the side with an abundance of roses, he constantly thinks “what if?” What if I lose everything tomorrow? What if someone I love dies tomorrow? What if I fail the final? What if I lose my job?

No matter how hard you try to ignore these thoughts, you cannot deny their presence or stop them from occurring. So what's the point of this whole inner world thing? It is reassuring, even when there are many such thoughts.

People say that happiness depends on events, which means that bad events take away our happiness. In fact, bad events affect our minds, but this is where peace of mind comes in.

  • You begin to see and appreciate all the little things that you never considered important, such as the ability to walk, eat, breathe, have a roof over your head, and even the sun that never stops rising.
  • It teaches you to be patient because in the end we will all be on the same day. Nobody ever rushed the next day.
  • You will learn how to make the most of every moment, knowing full well that someday we will all leave this world.
  • He teaches you to do things step by step. We all say this phrase to ourselves, especially when we get into a mess, but we never realize it until we find inner peace.
  • You will begin to notice dramatic changes in your health and well-being. Food and alcohol are no longer an option because you understand that there really is no way out of this life.
  • Your relationships and friendships become positive because you have learned to appreciate every moment spent with those you love.
  • As your health improves, you will also notice that you stop aging so quickly. In other words, peace of mind is an anti-aging factor.
  • You gradually gain control over those aspects of life that you can control. Habits and lifestyle are some of the things that you can control, and awareness of the inner world will help you deal well with these aspects.
  • You feel more confident taking on challenges and tasks that you would normally shy away from.
  • You will be able to gracefully handle losses and other unpleasant events without pretending to handle them well.

How to find peace of mind and happiness

As with many other concepts, when it comes to finding inner peace, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. However, all the points presented here will prove to be effective on your path to finding it. Use these steps to find peace of mind:

1. Clean up the mess in your "room"

As mentioned earlier, your mind can be compared to a room. When this room is filled with what-ifs and how-nots, plus work and family matters, you won't have enough room for other things.

This will take a lot of practice and patience because you can't just say to yourself, "Hey, stop thinking" and boom! Just stop. You must consciously remind yourself not to overthink things and only take what you can handle.

Even the bravest people break down, so take the time to clear your mind of unimportant things. You need this space.

2. Take responsibility for your actions

It takes a high level of maturity to take responsibility for your actions, especially when it's something you're not proud of, but to find inner peace you have to accept your mistakes and all.

3. Accept the fact that you are human.

In addition to being responsible for your actions, realize that you are not in control of everything. You are human and there is almost nothing you can do about it.

When you finally come to terms with it, you will stop blaming yourself for things you didn't cause and couldn't prevent.

We all like to be free and do what we dream of, so borders can sometimes look like our enemies, but they're not. Instead, boundaries help us stay in line and accountable. So the sooner you start setting boundaries, the better.

Some of the boundaries you should set include social media time, talk time, TV time, and work time.

6. Take a break

If you find it difficult to take breaks, then you are the only person who needs it the most. Even phones and laptops start to overheat and lag when used for extended periods.

It's okay to put your life on hold for the sake of the world. Go on vacation. Travel around the world. Visit the park.

7. Be early

It may not sound like an "inner hack" (because there is no hack), but it does help to keep your inner peace.

Have you noticed how confused and disorganized you are when you arrive late to an event? You're just tense and nervous, trying to figure out what's going to go wrong.

So, when you need to be at an event, try to arrive at least fifteen minutes before the scheduled time. You will notice how calm you will be even if something goes wrong, because you will have a few minutes to deal with it.
