100 examples of a special edition coming to the UK priced from £42,120, with 20 models getting Akrapovic exhausts
Cupra and spruce up her ATEK SUV with a new limited edition variant, bringing in new exterior styling elements and an Akrapovic exhaust variant.
Available to order, the new model will cost from £42,120 in rhodium gray without an exhaust upgrade, or £45,160 with it fitted along with a new graphene gray paint scheme. One hundred units come to the UK and only 20 are equipped with the Akrapovic system.
That upgraded exhaust is claimed to offer a "more lively listening experience" while saving 7kg over a standard item. While no power upgrade is listed, this variant is said to be capable of 0-62mph in 4.9sec and a top speed of 153mph - a marked improvement over the standard car according to Fig. 5.2 sec.
For those who aren't happy with these numbers, long-established VW group tuner ABT Sportsline is offering a power upgrade on the Atec, boosting it from 296bhp and 295lb ft to 345bhp and 324lb ft. That raises the top speed to 158mph, although it doesn't increase the 0-62mph time.
The limited edition styling upgrade includes 20-inch copper alloy wheels, new, aero-enhancement copper-veined fiber carbon roof spoiler, copper mirror caps and copper badging. New 18-inch Brembro brakes are also fitted, while the interior benefits from blue Alcantara heated sports seats and copper cab detailing.
