We all know the power of Photoshop, you will regularly see the results of its use on magazine covers and in advertising campaigns. But it's much more than just a tool for touching up and beautifying images, it's also a powerful piece of software for creating artwork and manipulating photos to bend them into artists.
We've tracked down a number of brilliant Photoshop artists and image manipulators from around the world to show you just how impressive results can be. Will you believe your eyes?
Lion roaring automobile
We've seen a lot of crazy concept cars over the decades, but Swiss artist Frederic Müller is putting a fresh spin on these designs.
This masterful artist took classic car designs from the 1950s and 1960s and reimagined them with inspiration from nature. Now these trips have taken on the animal as an aesthetic, both inside and out as a means of not only looking like animals, but also being driven by them. Our favorite is the Roar, a Ford 250 redesigned to fit the king of the jungle. The rest are pretty awesome too.
City Elephants
Phonsay Phothisomphane uses his artistic talents to craft an image of our world and what it would look like if his imagination could bring things to life.
He regularly crafts fairytale scenes that are uploaded for everyone to his Instagram account. This image of some tiny elephants drinking from a city puddle is one of our favorites and a perfect example of what it creates.
Behind the scenes
Calob Castellon is a fantastically talented and intelligent bod too. He also likes to show off behind the scenes of his work and regularly shows off powerful props, positioning and a bit of photoshop.
dream thing
Murat Akyol is a talented artist who turns his dreams into reality with the power of editing. The results are as wild and varied as you can imagine, and his dreams must be special.
Levitating Jedi
Mathieu Stern is a popular YouTuber with a talent for photography and film. During one shoot walk, he enrolled a cosplayer in some levitation to capture some really amazing images. Some photoshop editing magic and you can see how here.
woman in a bottle
An unusual twist on a message in a bottle, this work by Ljubodrag Andrić shows a tiny woman floating on the sea in clear bottles. She doesn't look happy about it. We wanted to introduce seasickness - it's probably kicking.
It's just one image Andrić Ljubodrag portfolio This is a collection that is absolutely breathtaking. This self-taught artist has had a passion for photography since he was 15 years old, and this passion has turned into a true talent. His art includes hyper-realistic images that mixes CGI with real photography. We highly recommend taking a look at his website to see more.
Key
This photo, titled "Key" is a digital self-portrait of the photoshop artist Alexey Belko. He was selected for category praise Sony World Photography Awards.
There's an incredible amount of detail here and we wonder how what the artist was thinking when he created this painting and whether he can see into our souls.
Last step
Another look nominated for Sony World Photography Awards, the performer's "last step" Sergey Dibtsev it is an understanding of suffering and loss. A woman in danger, a heartbroken man in deep thought and a helicopter searches the ground below for what is yet unknown.
Dark and moving, the photo before tells us a tale of grief and suffering, and does so with incredible beauty and detail.
Comatose red
"Comatose Red" by Iranian photoshop master Milad Safabakhsh achieved the highly rated category Sony World Photography Awards. This image represents what it's like to be in a coma with a tunnel of light calling you back to the world.
The lone, trampled man has a steady gaze at the light before him, but seems unable to move towards it, receding deep into the clutches of his consciousness.
Magrittean dives
This photo by Felicia Hodoroabă-Simion is part of a series of photo montages where the characters are immersed in the surrounding landscapes, reflecting the views around them. Here the artist wants us to contemplate how we perceive reality, the influence we have on this influence it has on us.
Another fantastic part of the recognized Sony World Photography Awards who chose it for their superior category.
fish park
Yong Ling Tan took the picture from the balcony of his apartment during a particularly miserable downpour. He then hit on the idea of photo manipulation to speak to the surreal feeling that I was trapped in a stone jungle in search of the freedom we all really want.
Fish Park was nominated in the extended category Sony World Photography Awards.
Subsidies
Photo commentary on society, taxes and subsidies, this depiction by German artist Martin Serafin is essentially a reflection of modern capitalism and the scourge that comes with it. "Subsidies" made it an approved category this year Sony world photography awards.
Superheroes through history
Photoshop Wizard Agan Harahap created a remarkable series of images reimagining historical events by introducing superheroes into iconic photographs. Here, Batman replaces Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, seen addressing the troops before D-Day in 1944.
The rest of the photos in the series include images of Superman helping to free artwork stolen by the Nazis, Darth Vadar attending the Yalta Conference, and more.
Tiny toaster people
Staudinger + Franke is a well-known photography studio based in Vienna that works in the advertising industry by day, providing smart and amazing photo work for its clients.
Such work includes a similarly dissected toaster, which apparently shows tiny little men working hard to deliver a delicious toasted piece to their owner.
flatland
Turkish artist Aydın Büyüktaş produced this image as part of a series of photographs called "Flatland", which would seem to show landscapes folding utterly upon themselves.
The images are created with a lot of patience, Google Earth for location scouting, and careful drone flight to capture the original photo, which is subsequently manipulated. The result is a series of amazingly mesmerizing images that bend the mind as much as the earth.
Develop
Czechoslovakian photographer and Photoshop artist Bara Prasilova, created a series of shots for Hasselbad Masters Book Volume 4 titled "Evolve". In this series, the manipulated photos of girls with long hair are meant to represent the connections between human relationships and the currents of fear, excitement and anxiety we feel as humans.
Emancipation of dissonance
Photo manipulator Charlie Devuli creates collages and montages to edit the photos he took from his iPhone. The result is a series surreal works , bend the imagination and let us question our reality.
big heads
This image is a collaboration between French photographer Jean-Yves Lemoigne and Photoshop artist Christopher Huet. Here's an example of a few photos taken for an ad campaign that won several industry awards and was highly acclaimed.
Swamps of time
Russian artist Dmitry Rogozhkin clearly has some talent when it comes to image processing. He has a lot of great work, but this photo is probably one of our favourites. Queues of women descend into the depths of the swamp before them.
A simple and philosophical picture about how a girl turns into a woman and turns into an old woman reaches out to her father-time.
Flying whale
In this surreal photo, a whale inexplicably floats through the sky, tugging at a tiny airship and a woman in a red dress on a journey above the clouds. Where they go, we are left to guess. Artist Erik Almas regularly uses his impressive talents to create works like this where the impossible becomes possible and believable.

Erik Johansson has a gifted eye for nature and a talent for believable portrayal of manipulation. Various works of his feature beautiful shots of landscapes, but mixed with incredible. He is also happy to show the effort that goes into his work with behind-the-scenes videos on his website.
From Wales on the London Underground
The rolling Wales countryside is interrupted by unexpected underground entrance lines. With this photo, James Popsys imagines an amazing world where the London Underground was hundreds of miles away. Rush hour has never looked so idyllic.
The end of the world
Jati Putra Pratama, an Indonesian artist and graphic designer, photographs the world we live in and twists the laws of gravity and corners of nature to present us with a new reality. Here, on the border of two worlds stand at a short distance from each other, or perhaps a shell hole appeared in the middle of the ocean.
For piggyback model
Like the promotions we showed earlier, simply and without loss of quality, Kirby Jenner gets his kicks from introducing himself into other people's photos. More specifically, Kirby uses Photoshop to put himself on Instagram posted a photo with Kendall Jenner, one of the biggest celebrities on Instagram.
"Kirby" is, of course, just a fictional name for an equally fictional character appearing in these photos, but we can't help but admire the skill and fun of these images.
Heavy is the head that wears the crown
Martin de Pasquale in Buenos Aires based on a photoshop master with an eye for surrealism. His style mostly revolves around taking bland and otherwise obscure photographs of himself, then injecting unusual sights, colors and shapes into the images.
Here Martin can be seen dragging his own head behind him.
Two worlds become one
Max Asabin, this is an unusual specimen in the world of photoshop manipulators. Not because of what he does or how he does it, nor the end result, but because he shows his work to show how he creates images.
Here we see how the two images combine into one and turn the otherwise main portrait into something out of a fairy tale.
A giant is man's best friend
Mitch Boyer has taken his love of pet dog and turned him into something frighteningly unreal. In a series of photographs, Mitch transforms his dachshund Vivian into a much larger monster - a two-meter version of himself that dominates his photographs.
The concept soon turned into something more when Mitch hit on the idea of turning a photo into a children's book to help kids be more comfortable with the idea of moving. And so, "Vivian the Dog Moves to the Big City" was born.
Ladies gothic pop surrealism
Lithuanian artist, Natalie Shaw uses a combination of digital painting, 3D programming and portrait photography to create dark and surreal images of women. Her distinctive images often a combination of historical styles with contemporary elements to create a visual image that is reminiscent of something described as "gothic pop surrealism".
Crazy rollercoasters in the world
Robert Jahns is another one of those modern image manipulators who simply uses photos taken on his phone to create surreal, intriguing and mesmerizing images.
With the use of various apps and snapshot photos on his iPhone, this artist certainly has a talent for creating breathtaking and dizzying-photos like this impossibly high roller coaster.
Out of place
What if things were in place? This is a topic for almost everyone. by Robert Rickhoff work. Unexpected elements appearing in places you never expected to see them in a variety of funny, obscure and downright dangerous ways.
On the expert side, this German Photoshop master makes us question whether what we see can really be true. It can't be, but it looks so convincing. Although we feel he missed out with his image by not setting the speed limit to 88mph.
Surreal life
Ukrainian digital artist Stanislav Odyagailo not only takes incredible photos, but he also masters Photoshop. Like some of the others on this list, he's a big fan of taking normal photos and turning them into mesmerizing and fantastic images.
Here we see a tree growing out of the subject's head.

Chris Labrooy has impressive portfolio works, which includes several chic and brilliantly colorful marketing masterpieces. One of which includes this rather impressive project for adidas kids trainers. There is no doubt he is a master of using CGI and 3D software tools to create breathtaking pieces that truly stand out from the crowd.
