You can make a call by asking to call a contact from your phone's contact book, or by simply speaking the full number aloud.

It's easy to set up the service if you're a paying monthly customer, or you can just do it in the Alexa app.
Once set up, your phone and their Alexa devices will ring at the same time when someone calls, so you can answer on either device - it's a great way to take a call when you've got your hands on a sink or you're painting a feature wall.
You can even receive calls if your phone is turned off or out of service area. There are other Alexa settings you can tweak, such as choosing which devices will ring if you have multiple echoes, for example. You can also enable an incoming call to ring if you don't want to be disturbed.
Calls to get out of your monthly allowance and allowance calls are charged at the standard rate.
