What is a proxy IP address? When you connect to the Internet through a proxy, the IP address of the proxy server will be displayed instead of your home IP address. Proxy IP addresses are designed to provide more privacy when browsing the web. The port number is part of the address information used to identify recipients and senders of network messages. These numbers are also commonly associated with TCP/IP network connections. Port numbers allow different applications on the same computer to share network resources. Moreover, port numbers can start from 0 to 65535.

As you can see in the image, the numbers marked in red make up the IP address of the proxy IP address. The number marked in blue is the port number. 8080 is the default port number that is commonly used for proxying and caching. To obtain a proxy, special services are used that can provide you with secure access to the network, for example: youproxy.ru

Understanding the TCP/IP protocol

TCP/IP is a set of communication protocols used to connect network devices on the Internet. The Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol uses two protocols - TCP and IP - and implements layers of protocol stacks. Each layer is dedicated to providing a well-defined network service to an upper layer protocol.

Understanding Application Layers

The application layer is one of the layers in the TCP/IP protocol suite and the seven layer model of open systems interoperability. Application layers include protocols that facilitate inter-process communication in an IP network. Some of the common application layer protocols include:

  • HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol)
  • SMTP (Simple Text Transfer Protocol)
  • SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)
  • FTP (File Transfer Protocol)

Understanding Transport Layers

The transport layer protocol is the fourth layer of the OSI reference model. It provides transparent communication between two communicating systems or end systems that use network layer services, such as the Internet Protocol layer. Because the transport layers provide end-to-end communication and control, it is safe to say that they will provide reliable and cost-effective data transmission, as well as the quality of service required for a particular application.

Understanding Network Layers

Network layers are considered the basis of the open systems interaction model. It is also the third layer of the model, providing data routing paths for seamless network communications. At the network layer, data will be transmitted as packets over one or more logical network paths in an organized format.

Understanding Data Link Layers

In computer networks, the data layer is the second layer of the OSI model. The layer is also responsible for transferring data between nodes in a local network or neighboring network nodes in a wide area network. Common data transfer protocols include point-to-point protocol, Ethernet, advanced data transfer control procedures, and others.
