The Huawei P40 is here, and after a tumultuous year for the Chinese company, it's Huawei's opportunity to show off its top-end phones that it hopes will blow away the competition, such as the Samsung Galaxy S20.
Today (March 26) is the launch for the Huawei P40 family, and due to the coronavirus pandemic, the company has decided to pull its Paris launch, so it's just an online-only event.
This means that we are watching Richard Yu (CEO of Huawei consumer business group) and other representatives to take to the stage somewhere in the world, where they will be able to present the machine with an audience of less space.
Below we tell you through all the Huawei P40 launch details as they happen.

13: 18 - We missed a lot from Huawei P40 camera tech, but the Pro comes with a 40MP ultra wide-angle camera, 50MP RYYB ultra wide vision camera, and 5x optical telephoto.
There is also a time-of-flight sensor on the back, and that didn't seem to be a feature on the Huawei P40.
The P40 Plus is what Richard Yu calls the company's "monster camera." It is 40MP ultra wide, 50MP ultra wide vision and time sensor flights.
That's when combined with two separate telephoto shooters...why you want that now, though unclear. I'm sure Huawei will clarify in a moment.
13: 17 - we're on camera now and it's sure to be the focus of this show as Huawei is proud of its camera.
He calls the P40 "the most powerful ultra-vision camera". The P40 comes with a triple camera, the P40 Pro has a quad camera while the P40 Plus comes with a penta shooter.
13: 15 - Huawei P40 Pro and Pro both come in black, deep sea blue, ice white as well as silver front and blush old ones. The P40 Pro Plus comes in Ceramic White and Ceramic Black.
13: 13 - The phone comes with a new in-screen fingerprint sensor that the company claims is better than before since it's bigger and faster.
13: 08 - As expected, Huawei P40 series comes with a quad-curve overflow display. This means that the screen is curved at the top and bottom as well as on the sides of the phone.
It looks like a unique design that we haven't seen on other flagship phones.
13: 06 - In Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro Plus be presented on stage by Richard Yu.
This is the third phone, this is a new line for Huawei's flagship series. We originally expected it to be called the Huawei P40 Pro Premium, but the company opted for the Plus instead.
13: 00 - Huawei CEO Richard Yu has just entered the P40 launch stage, and we're only just getting started. Here we will tell you all the latest on the next phone from the company.
Let's start!
11: 45 - It looks increasingly likely that we could see the Huawei P40 Pro Plus 5G (aka Huawei P40 Pro Premium) alongside the P40 P40 and Pro as the extensive spec list for the phone was only leaked, right before its soon-to-be announcement.
If rumors are to be believed, it has a slick 120Hz refresh rate, a hefty 12GB of RAM, and 10x optical zoom, among other things. Could this be the star of the Huawei show company?

09: 50 - it's a matter of hours until we hear about the Huawei P40 series and we've put together this blog so you can follow along with the latest as it happens. Launch will begin at 1pm GMT / 9am ET 6am PT or 11pm EST.
What do we expect to see today? Huawei is expected to announce a number of new products, and we've put together a handy guide with them below from current leaks and rumors.
- Huawei P40 - The Huawei P40 won't be the company's top phone, but it's still set to be a flagship that's perfect for the average person.
- Huawei P40 Pro - We're expecting a big camera update for the entire P40 series, but it's likely a lot of them will debut on the P40 Pro given the company's shooter on the P30 Pro.
- The Huawei P40 Pro Premium is a new line in the Huawei family and is rumored to be the top phone you can buy with money from the company. Exactly what it will do differently in the other two phones is not currently clear.
- Huawei Watch GT 2e is weird. Huawei has confirmed it's coming, but it appears to be just a redesign of the GT 2 watch. With a name similar to the GT 2e, it could mean more affordable products.
- Something else - Huawei is always thrilled to have a surprise on its launches, so we might hear something we haven't seen leaked before.
- When will we see the Google Pixel 4a?
