For a long time, the Chinese company Xiaomi specialized in budget smartphones, but a couple of years ago they decided: it’s time to climb higher. They founded the Redmi brand and, relatively speaking, transferred the authority to produce budget smartphones to it. They themselves focused on developing flagship smartphones that could seriously compete with top devices from Samsung, Apple, Huawei and Google. And they succeeded, and with great success.
After the release of Xiaomi Mi 10, it became clear that a new major player with powerful jaws and razor-sharp teeth has appeared on the flagship market. But we will not talk about it, but about Xiami Mi 10 Pro , the senior flagship of 2020.
Design Features
The design of the Mi 10 Pro is simple and quite typical for 2020, but with its own unique features. Firstly, the waterfall display, which flows seamlessly into the metal frame, creates a feeling of high cost and elitism. Secondly, it is worth noting the high quality of the materials from which the glass and body are made. The tempered glass Corning Gorilla Glass 5 shows itself well during stress tests – it is clear that Xiaomi did not save even a cent on the design and squeezed out the maximum.

In terms of camera placement, the designers decided to go the traditional route and placed them on the right, in a row. This implementation looks attractive and natural.

One of the main innovations is that Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro received a new generation UFS 3.0 memory with Miracast support. The built-in memory is 256 or 512 GB, depending on the version selected.
The 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, manufactured using a 7-nanometer process technology, is responsible for performance. This is a flagship chipset, one of the best in 2020. The processor part is three-cluster:
- 1 x 2.84 GHz (Cortex A77 main core);
- 3 x 2.42 GHz (Cortex A77 performance cores);
- 4 x 1.80 GHz (energy efficient Cortex A55 cores).
Graphics processing is handled by the Adreno 650, one of the best video accelerators at the moment.
The flagship Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro demonstrates excellent performance in any tasks. It is possible to load the processor to 100% only in synthetic tests, in everyday use the maximum load does not even reach 60%. The exception is video games. In this case, the processor can be loaded to 90-100%, but this is a normal situation even for the Apple A13 Bionic.

As we can see, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro is slightly inferior to the Huawei P40 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, but the price difference between these flagships is also colossal.
