Gears of War: E-Day became available on October 6 on Xbox Series X|S, PC and in the cloud. It’s a prequel to the main series: the story takes place on the day of the first Locust invasion, long before the events of the original Gears of War. At its center are Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago.

What players get at launch

The developers bring back the grim atmosphere of the early games while updating the gameplay on Unreal Engine 5. Besides the story campaign, the game includes the Horde Siege PvE mode and competitive multiplayer. It supports Xbox Play Anywhere: you can play the digital version on a console and a compatible PC without buying it twice.
