Update 02/04/20: Tesco has expanded its food delivery and click-and-collect capacity to about 780,000 delivery slots from 660,000 two weeks ago. It also announced plans to add another 100 in the coming weeks.
Most supermarkets ask you to visit the stores in person if you can so they can prioritize food delivery slots for elderly or vulnerable consumers. If you need to order food online, check the website of your local supermarket throughout the day. Some food delivery services are still running as well.
Online food delivery services have been busy for weeks - but we're starting to see signs of progress. Following strict government guidelines to stay at home to combat the spread of the coronavirus, there has been a huge surge of people looking to buy groceries online.
This meant that it was not easy to order food delivery online. But many online supermarkets are starting to roll out a small number of slots for older or vulnerable consumers throughout the day, chances are that if you need one - and try hard throughout the day - you might be able to find a slot eventually.

When will more online grocery delivery slots open? This is the million dollar question. While large supermarkets are working around the clock to speed up supply chains, we looked at how they are dealing with increased demand.
It currently looks like it will be mid-April before many new food delivery slots open. But we're evaluating the situation daily, and we'll let you know supermarkets are offering food delivery slots, below, as soon as we see them.

Tesco
Next Delivery Slot: Out of Stock (Updated 01/04/20)
Update (01/04/20): While we saw a couple of Tesco food delivery slots pop up a few days ago on April 3rd, we now don't find it in the areas we're testing. However, we heard from people who checked in regularly throughout the day and managed to book a slot.
Tesco CEO Dave Lewis reached out to customers in a new message this week: “We know it's hard to make a delivery slot for online retailers right now. We are at full capacity over the next few weeks and we are asking those who are able to calmly come in stores rather than online shopping so we can start to make room for the more vulnerable."
Tesco has a decent selection of groceries online, but getting them can be tricky at the moment. Most brands are in stock, but eggs, soap, pasta, milk and bread are exceptions, with some items sold out.
According to Tesco, new food delivery slots offer how and when they are available every day.
How to register for an account
Enter a valid email address and password, and confirm whether you have a club card or not. You will receive automatically upon registration if you do not. Fill in your personal details including phone number and UK postal code. You can then choose if you want to receive Tesco offers and vouchers or not.
Advantages
Online shoppers can collect a club card of outlets and Tesco have launched Aldi's matching price on their branded and branded products. The screensaver delivery subscription is also available to regular customers, and comes with the added benefit of priority delivery slots during the Christmas and Easter periods.

Customers who shop online are advised to shop in-store where delivery slots can be helped to free up delivery slots for the elderly and those self-isolating.
Due to increased demand, Tesco is not accepting new Shipping Saver customers right now. The limitation of only three items per item per item per location, and multi-buy stocks have also been removed.
The 80 items limit is currently available for all online orders.
Sainsbury

If you are already registered as an online Sainsbury customer, Sainsbury has stopped all new online registrations.
Update (01/04/20): if you already have an account, we found food delivery slots for March 31st and April 1st at the start of the week, but seniors and vulnerable populations are a priority. The amount will vary depending on your area, but it's a positive sign that Sainsbury's is starting to handle unprecedented demand. The company offers a click and collect service, but this is still unavailable.
In a message to customers, Sainsbury Chief Executive Mike Coupe provided a deeper understanding of how the company delivers to the elderly and vulnerable: "Many of you have emailed me to tell me you are elderly or vulnerable and are trying to order online with delivery slots. . We do our very best to offer online slots delivery to the elderly, disabled and vulnerable. Such clients have priority over all slots.”
Sainsbury testified that their Careline client is "one year's worth of contacts in two weeks". Mike Coupe added, “Sorry to our regular online customers who I know are very upset that we weren't able to book slots. Please bear with us and I hope you can understand why we feel the need to prioritize older and vulnerable consumers at this time.”

Asda
Next Delivery Slot: Out of Stock (Updated 01/04/20)
Update (01/04/20): Asda still you will be able to register as a new customer online, but online delivery slots are not available until April 19th. Click & collect slots are also unavailable.
Similar to a supermarket, Asda has now implemented a queuing system to handle the large volumes of traffic its site receives. No estimate of where you are in line though, or how long you have to wait. Items such as toothpaste, soap and toilet paper are also in high demand.
In an email to customers, Asda CEO Roger Burnley shared some insights into how the company works to deliver online shopping: “We provide our drivers with hand sanitizer: and gloves, and making as many online shopping slots available. How we can. We encourage those who can safely shop in person - this allows us to ensure that they are highly receptive."
Roger Burnely continued: "If you are not self-isolating or have additional needs, please let us know in the 'other information' section at checkout."
How to register for an account
Signing up is quick and easy asda (it says so much about your site), just enter your email address, password and enter your shipping zip code and you're good to go. You can choose whether to receive exclusive offers and the latest information from Asda too, if you wish.

Competitively priced and with affordable shipping, Asda online shoppers can save up to £80 and £100 by choosing a 6-month or 12-month pass. The offers are clearly highlighted on the Asda website so you never miss a cracking deal.

Customers are limited to three items maximum on all food, toiletries and cleaning products when ordering online.
When placing an online order for delivery, everyone who is self-isolating is advised to fill in the "other information" section to indicate where their order should be on the left, i.e. at the doorstep.

Update (01/04/20): no more slots available, according to the supermarket website. The company has seemingly ditched its queue system in favor of a daily update indicating whether or not a delivery slot is available.
The company also brings estimated times ahead, so shoppers are encouraged to complete an order within one session to avoid disappointment later. If you visit the supermarket's website you will be placed in a virtual queue that can last up to four hours (the brand has suspended the app due to high demand).
In an email to existing customers on March 25, Supermarket Retail CEO Melanie Smith said that "no matter how hard we work, we won't have enough capacity to serve unprecedented levels of demand."
She went on to say that "new delivery slots will come out every day for the next week as and when we have capacity."
It is currently unclear whether the supermarket will allow new customers. If you don't have a delivery already booked, the supermarket's website notes that there are "limited options over the next few days."
How to register for an account
You can register for the supermarket using Facebook and a PayPal account, or simply fill in your details such as email address and zip code to register. Check the box if you want to opt out of the offer from the supermarket, and coupons and gifts before you click 'Register'.

New customers can enjoy three months free shipping with Smart Pass, and the supermarket also offers one hour delivery windows.

The supermarket had to temporarily suspend service due to high demand, but is now back online. Customers can only reserve one delivery slot every seven days to free up slots for other customers.
Some products are limited to one or two per order, and a small number of bulky items have been withdrawn from sale yet in each van. The company shared how hoarding has affected its service during the coronavirus outbreak.
Anytime smart pass attendees who have joined by 2020 will be placed in a temporary priority queue so they can book a delivery slot each week. Supermarket will send an email and SMS message between 09:00 and 17:00 to give participants access to the queue.
Morrisons

The Morrisons site has recovered after being out for a few days, but there is still no delivery slot at this time. There is also a very small selection of pasta.
How to register for an account
To sign up for Morrisons online account, first, enter your zip code to check if Morrisons delivers in your area. As soon as you get everything clear, enter your data and password to register. You may also receive unique offers, coupons and links from Morrisons.
Advantages
You can use your Facebook account to sign in to the app, and Morrison's fast store fills your cart with the best things you might want to buy in one click. The Pass is also available with regular delivery for those who want to do their weekly online shopping.

The network is still accepting new customer registrations - however, all delivery and click & collect slots are unfortunately not available right now. You can still change or cancel existing orders.
Update 01/04/20: The network has updated its website to inform customers of its support for the vulnerable and the elderly by giving them priority access to its home delivery and pickup at the slot machine store.
It doesn't look like many will open anytime soon, as it doesn't confirm any new slots at the moment - but it could very well just be a lack of communication on the social media team:
How to register for an account
After registering on the Web, simply fill in your details such as your address and contact number, then click the "Next" button and you can start shopping right away.
Advantages
The chain has a number of attractive introductory offers, including £30 savings on the first three chain grocery stores. The website also includes hundreds of recipes and ingredient lists so you can quickly add them to your cart.

The company has suspended its online voucher codes along with any offer incentives until further notice. Some products are limited for a limited time, with customers only allowed to buy a maximum of two packs of toilet paper and three of any specific grocery item.
Entertainment products are no longer available to order online for the foreseeable future. Replacements for online orders cannot be returned to your driver if they have been processed and drivers do not enter the home.
All online supplies will also be bagged to make them easier to quickly assemble.
