The GTA 6 release date is November 19, 2026, and the platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders have been open since June 25, 2026: the Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition $99.99 (US PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store prices as of September 22, 2026). Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC version.

GTA 6 release date and platforms
Rockstar has set the release for Thursday, November 19, 2026. The game is coming only to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; there are no PS4 or Xbox One versions. In the PlayStation Store, GTA 6 carries the PS5 Pro Enhanced label.
GTA 6 is a single-player game: that’s how Rockstar and its PlayStation Store listing describe it, and you can play it without an internet connection. No online mode has been announced yet. The game is set in Vice City and the fictional state of Leonida, and its protagonists are Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.
The release has been delayed twice, but in August 2026 Take-Two reaffirmed the November date in its quarterly report.

How much GTA 6 costs and how the editions differ
There are two editions: the Standard Edition and the Ultimate Edition. The price depends on the store’s region.

The Ultimate Edition is the same game plus a set of items that unlock as you progress through the story. They include the ’95 Grotti Cheetah sports car, the Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers, personalized pistols for both protagonists, outfits, hairstyles and tattoos. Several businesses are open only to owners of this edition, including the Rideout Customs mod shop, Sara’s Unisex Salon and the Electric Fang Tattoo parlor.
The Ultimate Edition is sold only digitally. You can move up to it from the Standard Edition, including the physical version, by buying an upgrade: in the US Microsoft Store, it costs $20 (as of September 22, 2026).
Pre-orders and bonuses
Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026, in the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and Rockstar Store and at retailers. In European PlayStation Stores, including Ukraine’s, you pay for a pre-order right away. The digital version can be pre-loaded starting November 12, a week before release.
- Vintage Vice City Pack: comes with any pre-order or purchase made before November 20, 2026, digital or physical. It includes the ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan with a garage, outfits, hairstyles and an exclusive weapon pattern.
- A month of GTA+: only with a digital pre-order from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store. On PS5, it must be redeemed by March 31, 2027; on Xbox, within 180 days of purchase. After that, it renews as a paid subscription until you cancel it.
GTA+ is a subscription for GTA Online and a library of classic Rockstar games, including GTA V. No benefits for GTA 6 itself have been announced.
Physical version: a code instead of a disc
There’s no disc in the GTA 6 box, just a code to download a digital copy. Boxed copies go on sale on November 12, 2026, so buyers can download the game in time for release. To download it, you need an internet connection and a PlayStation or Xbox account. The box contains the Standard Edition: it comes with the Vintage Vice City Pack, but not with the month of GTA+.
PlayStation codes are region-locked. For example, a box from the Rockstar Store shipped to the US or Canada can only be redeemed on PlayStation accounts from those countries. The Rockstar Store itself ships boxed copies to 20 countries: the US, Canada, the UK and some European countries. Ukraine isn’t on the list.
Will GTA 6 come to PC
Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC version: there’s no release date and no system requirements. On September 17, 2026, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told investors that, over time, the company releases its games on every platform with a meaningful audience, and that PC is becoming more and more important to it. However, he didn’t confirm GTA 6 for PC.
For reference, GTA V came out on consoles in September 2013 and on PC in April 2015. Until a PC version shows up in official stores, don’t buy GTA 6 PC “pre-orders” or keys.
What to check before you pay
- The platform: GTA 6 is coming only to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- Your account’s region: PlayStation codes from boxed copies only work with accounts from the same region.
- The edition: the Ultimate Edition is digital-only, but you can upgrade to it later.
- The format: the month of GTA+ comes only with a digital pre-order from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store.
- The pre-order cancellation terms at the store you choose.
- The seller: buy the game or a code, not access to someone else’s account.

FAQ
Will GTA 6 come out on PS4 and Xbox One?
No. Rockstar has announced only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
When will GTA 6 come out on PC?
Unknown. As of September 22, 2026, no PC version has been announced, and there are no system requirements either.
Do you need PS Plus or Game Pass to play GTA 6?
No. GTA 6 is a single-player game, and its PlayStation Store listing says it can be played offline. You’ll need an internet connection to download the game, including from the code in the box.
Will GTA 6 be available on disc?
