ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude write text, search the web, analyze files and help with code, and each one has a free plan. There is no universal winner: ChatGPT works well as a single service for text, files and images, Gemini fits if your work lives in Gmail, Google Docs and Android, and Claude suits people with lots of long documents and projects. Below is a comparison of prices, features, privacy and availability in Ukraine based on the official OpenAI, Google and Anthropic pages as of September 22, 2026.

How much ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude cost
All three offer free access with limits. Paid plans raise the limits and unlock extra features. Prices below are for the US, in dollars and excluding tax, as of September 22, 2026.
- ChatGPT: Go is $8 a month, Plus is $20, and Pro is $100 (5x the Plus limits) or $200 (20x). Since September 10, 2026, OpenAI has temporarily paused new sign-ups for Pro at $200. Go, Plus and Pro can’t be billed annually.
- Gemini: Google AI Plus is $4.99 a month, Google AI Pro is $19.99, and Google AI Ultra is $99.99 or $199.99 (5x or 20x the AI Pro limits). Subscriptions include Google One storage: 400 GB with AI Plus and 5 TB with AI Pro.
- Claude: Pro is $20 a month, or $17 a month billed annually ($200 up front); Max starts at $100 a month (5x or 20x the Pro usage).
For teams, OpenAI sells ChatGPT Business and Anthropic sells Claude Team: on both, a standard seat costs $20 per user per month billed annually, or $25 billed monthly. Google has a separate product for companies, Gemini Enterprise.
Prices in Ukraine may differ. On its plans page for Ukraine, Google lists UAH 224.99 a month for Google AI Plus and UAH 909.99 for Google AI Pro. OpenAI accepts subscription payments in hryvnias on the ChatGPT website, and subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are charged in local currency. Anthropic says Pro pricing in local currency and tax handling vary by region.
The three count usage differently. In Gemini, the limit depends on the complexity of your prompt, the model and the features, and it refreshes every five hours until you reach the weekly cap. Claude’s limit also resets every five hours, and paid plans add a weekly limit on top. In ChatGPT Free and Go, everyday text chats are unlimited, but files, images, voice and data analysis have their own limits. If you rarely hit a limit, start with the free plan.
Long documents and projects
The context window determines how much text an assistant can keep in view in a single chat. In Gemini it is 32K tokens without a subscription, 128K with AI Plus and 1 million with AI Pro and AI Ultra. Claude offers up to 1 million tokens on every plan, including Free, depending on the model. For ChatGPT, OpenAI says the window in Go is larger than in Free, and the one in Plus is larger than in Go.
So you don’t have to re-explain a task in every new chat, all three offer workspaces with files and instructions. In ChatGPT, these are projects: they are available on the free plan too and can be shared, with up to 5 files and 5 collaborators on Free and up to 25 files and 10 collaborators on Go and Plus.
In Claude, projects with a knowledge base are also free (up to five), but sharing them is limited to the Team and Enterprise plans. Gemini offers notebooks with sources and instructions, which Google is rolling out gradually, plus Gems. For editing long text or code, each has a separate workspace: Canvas in ChatGPT and Gemini, Artifacts in Claude.
Search and research
All three can search the web, even for free. ChatGPT and Claude answer with links to their sources, and some Gemini answers are grounded in Google Search results. For a complex question that requires pulling data from many sources into a report, there is a dedicated mode: Deep Research in Gemini is available without a subscription, deep research in ChatGPT varies by plan (it is included in Plus and Pro), and Research in Claude starts with the Pro plan.
OpenAI and Anthropic explicitly advise opening the sources behind an answer: the model can paraphrase a page inaccurately or miss an important detail. For fresh numbers and quotes, this is a must.
Gmail, Docs and Android
Gemini has the deepest ties to Google services. Even without a subscription, you can connect it to Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive and other apps: it can summarize emails, create an event or find a file, and on Android it can make a call, send a message or set an alarm. On the web and on iOS, connected apps work only when the Keep Activity setting is on.
A separate feature is Gemini inside the services themselves: the side panel in Gmail comes with Google AI Plus, and the one in Google Docs with AI Pro. The panel works in Ukrainian and Russian, among other languages, but only for users 18 and older. We covered what Google added to these plans in September in our piece on Google’s AI plan update.
ChatGPT and Claude can also connect to Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive. Claude offers these connectors on all plans and, by default, asks for your approval before sending an email. In ChatGPT, the set of available apps depends on your plan and region; OpenAI says it does not train its models on data accessed directly from connected Google apps.
Images, voice and video
ChatGPT and Gemini create images, including on the free plan, within limits. Gemini can also generate music without a subscription, and video starting with Google AI Plus; for dedicated tools, see our guide to AI music generation. Claude doesn’t create photos or illustrations: it builds diagrams, charts and interactive visuals. All three have a voice mode; Google’s is called Gemini Live.
Coding
Each company has a dedicated coding tool. OpenAI’s Codex is included in every ChatGPT plan: on Free and Go it is meant for small tasks, and from Plus up it works on the web, in the terminal, in the IDE extension and on iOS. Claude Code is available on all paid Claude plans and draws from the same usage limits as chat. Google AI Pro brings higher limits for the Jules agent (in beta, officially English-only) and access to the Google Antigravity development platform.
It is better to compare them on your own project than on a single impressive example. Share a small code snippet without passwords or keys, describe the expected result, ask for a list of risks, and run the tests yourself. If an assistant confidently suggests changes but can’t explain how they affect the project, that’s a reason to stop.
Privacy and ads
On personal ChatGPT plans (Free, Go, Plus and Pro), your chats may be used to train models; you can turn this off in Data Controls. Anthropic uses Claude chats for training if you allow it (the exception is conversations flagged for safety review). In Gemini, it all depends on the Keep Activity setting: while it is on, Google uses chats to improve its services, including training models, and human reviewers read some conversations; that data is kept for up to three years, disconnected from your account.
For conversations you don’t want to keep, there are temporary chats: in ChatGPT (OpenAI may keep a copy for up to 30 days for safety), in Gemini (kept for 72 hours) and incognito chats in Claude. These chats aren’t used to train models. On ChatGPT Business and Claude Team, data isn’t used for training by default, and work Google accounts are covered by separate terms.
Their approaches to ads differ. Since February 9, 2026, OpenAI has been testing ads in ChatGPT Free and Go: it started in the US and is expanding the test gradually, while Plus, Pro and Business have no ads. In February 2026, Anthropic said Claude will remain ad-free. Google says Gemini chats are not used to show you ads.
- Don’t share passwords, API keys, banking details or documents you have no right to share. Google explicitly asks users not to enter confidential information into Gemini that they wouldn’t want a reviewer to see.
- When connecting your email, drive or calendar, grant only the permissions you need and disconnect apps you don’t use in settings. The incident during a Gemini security test shows why this matters.
- For important decisions, treat the AI answer as a draft and keep the final version of the document outside the chat.
Do they work in Ukraine and in Ukrainian
According to the official country lists, all three services are available in Ukraine. OpenAI lists Ukraine with certain exceptions. Google includes Ukraine in the lists for both the Gemini app and the Google AI Plus and Pro plans. Anthropic offers Claude in Ukraine except for Crimea and the Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
The interface language is where the difference shows. ChatGPT and Gemini can be switched to Ukrainian or Russian. Claude’s interface is available in English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, but you can write to it in any language, and it replies in the language you use.

There is no permanent winner. ChatGPT works as one assistant for many tasks, Gemini for work in Google services, and Claude for long documents and projects. Test your typical task in all three: you can do it for free.
Can I use them for free?
