The ThinkCentre M90q Gen 6 is a mini PC from Lenovo’s top-tier M Series: a 1-liter Tiny case with Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors and the Q870 chipset. Inside are three M.2 SSD slots, two memory slots and a PCIe 4.0 x8 slot for a low-profile card such as an Intel Arc A310 graphics card. Two extra rear ports are chosen at order time: serial or VGA for point-of-sale and older equipment, 2.5GbE or Thunderbolt 4.
IT teams get a discrete TPM 2.0 with FIPS 140-2 certification, a self-healing BIOS, a chassis intrusion switch and Intel vPro Enterprise in some configurations. The NPU in this generation tops out at 13 TOPS, so the M90q Gen 6 is not a Copilot+ PC. The AMD version, the ThinkCentre M75q Gen 6 with Ryzen AI 400 chips, an NPU of up to 50 TOPS and DASH management, arrives in October 2026; Lenovo expects it to start at €999.

HP introduced the EliteDesk 8 Mini G2i in March 2026: a Copilot+ PC in a 1-liter case with Intel Core Ultra (Series 3) processors and an NPU of up to 50 TOPS. Multi-monitor ports come standard — Thunderbolt 4, two DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 — and with compatible HP monitors, the PC gets power and sends video over a single cable.
One Flex IO port adds a second Thunderbolt 4, 2.5 Gbps networking, fiber, VGA or serial; the other can even take an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 with 8 GB of memory. HP Wolf Security for Business includes the self-healing Sure Start BIOS, Sure Click protection against malicious websites and Office and PDF attachments, and Tamper Lock, which asks for an admin password after the case is opened. We couldn’t check the price in HP’s US store.

Dell introduced the Pro 5 Micro in March 2026 as part of its refreshed Dell Pro lineup: a Copilot+ PC in a 1.2-liter case with Intel Core Ultra (Series 3) processors. Its standout feature is a full-function USB-C port that takes up to 100 W, so a single cable to a USB-C hub monitor carries power, video and peripherals.
One of nine rear modules is chosen at order time: DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, VGA, serial, fiber networking or a dual DisplayPort module that lets the Dell Pro 5 Micro drive five monitors. The case passed 14 MIL-STD-810H tests. In Dell’s US store, a configuration with a Core Ultra 5 335, 16 GB of memory, a 512 GB SSD and Windows 11 Pro cost $1,617.

ASUS announced the ExpertCenter PN55 on March 18, 2026. It is the most compact Windows PC in this roundup at 130 × 130 × 34 mm, and it mounts on a VESA bracket behind a monitor. It runs AMD Ryzen AI 400 processors up to the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 with an NPU of up to 55 TOPS, which makes it a Copilot+ PC.
Office-friendly extras include two 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports, USB4 with DisplayPort 2.1 that can also power the PC at up to 100 W, support for four 4K monitors and a fingerprint sensor on the case. Models with Ryzen AI PRO processors get AMD PRO remote management. In ASUS’s US store, a Ryzen AI 7 450 configuration with 32 GB of memory, a 1 TB SSD and Windows 11 Pro cost $1,299, down from $1,349, with a one-year warranty.

The EliteDesk 8 Tower G1i is HP’s tower with Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors for users who outgrow a mini PC: four memory slots for up to 128 GB, three PCIe slots (including PCIe 5.0 x16), three M.2 slots and two 3.5-inch hard drive bays. A graphics card can be ordered with it: AMD Radeon RX 6300, Intel Arc A380, NVIDIA RTX A400 or GeForce RTX 3050 with 8 GB of memory.
The front has two 20 Gbps USB-C and four 10 Gbps USB-A ports, the rear has HDMI 2.1 and two DisplayPort 2.1, and Flex IO adds Thunderbolt 4. Apple announced the Mac mini with M6 and M5 Pro chips on August 25, 2026, and sales began on September 22. The base model, an M6 with a 12-core CPU and GPU, 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD, costs $899 in Apple’s US store; the M5 Pro version starts at $1,699. Apple says Excel calculations run up to 1.5x faster on it than on the M4 Mac mini.
Every version gets 2.5 Gbps Ethernet with a 10 Gbps option, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and at idle the Mac mini measures 5 dBA. For companies, Apple offers Apple Business with device management (MDM), data on Macs with Apple silicon is encrypted automatically, and the one-year warranty can be extended with AppleCare. Memory and storage are chosen at purchase, so for work files it’s better to start at 512 GB.

How to choose a business computer
Form factor: mini PC, tower or all-in-one
For email, documents, the browser and video calls, most employees will do fine with a mini PC: a 1- to 1.2-liter case mounts on a VESA bracket behind the monitor or under the desk. A tower or compact SFF makes sense when the PC needs PCIe cards, 3.5-inch hard drives or more than 96 GB of memory: the HP EliteDesk 8 Tower G1i takes up to 128 GB, three PCIe cards and two such drives.
An all-in-one saves space and cables at reception or in a meeting room, but when the computer ages, the screen has to go with it. For staff who split their week between the office and home, a laptop with a dock is more convenient.
Processor and NPU
Microsoft defines a Copilot+ PC as one with an NPU of 40+ TOPS, 16 GB of memory and at least a 256 GB SSD, and some Windows 11 features, such as improved search and Click to Do, run only on these machines. In this list, that means the HP EliteDesk 8 Mini G2i, Dell Pro 5 Micro and ASUS ExpertCenter PN55.
The ThinkCentre M90q Gen 6, M90a Pro Gen 6 and HP EliteDesk 8 Tower G1i use Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) chips with NPUs of up to 13 TOPS: the Copilot assistant runs on them, but Copilot+ features don’t. Core Ultra 7 and 9 or Ryzen AI 9 chips pay off for big spreadsheets, development and graphics; for email and documents, spend the budget on memory and storage instead.
Memory and storage
Get at least 16 GB of memory, the amount Microsoft requires for a Copilot+ PC. The Windows computers here use memory modules you can add to later: up to 64 GB in the Lenovo, HP and Dell mini PCs and the M90a Pro, up to 96 GB in the ASUS PN55 and up to 128 GB in the HP EliteDesk 8 Tower G1i. On the Mac mini and iMac, memory and SSD are chosen at purchase and can’t be changed later.
For work files, get an SSD of 512 GB or more. The ThinkCentre M90q Gen 6, HP EliteDesk 8 Mini G2i, EliteDesk 8 Tower G1i and M90a Pro Gen 6 all-in-one have three M.2 slots; the Dell Pro 5 Micro and ASUS PN55 have two.
Management and security
A company needs Windows 11 Pro, not Home: Active Directory domain join and Group Policy are available only in Pro and higher editions, and full BitLocker can be turned on in Pro, Enterprise and Education. TPM 2.0 is part of the minimum Windows 11 requirements; on ThinkCentre models it’s a discrete chip with FIPS 140-2 certification.
If an IT team manages your PCs, look for Intel vPro or AMD PRO. With Intel AMT, an admin can diagnose, update, repair or retire a PC even when it’s off or Windows won’t boot, and Intel commits to no hardware changes on vPro platforms for at least 15 months. AMD PRO uses the open DASH standard, works with Microsoft Intune and Configuration Manager and supports AMD Memory Guard memory encryption. Macs enroll in device management through Apple Business.
Warranty and service
Lenovo sells ThinkCentre models with one or three years of onsite warranty, depending on the model. Count the screens on each desk in advance. The ASUS PN55 supports four 4K monitors, the ThinkCentre M90q Gen 6 up to four with optional video ports, the Dell Pro 5 Micro up to five with the dual DisplayPort module, the Mac mini with M6 up to three, and the iMac one or two external displays.
