Resident Evil Requiem on PC requires 64-bit Windows 11, 16 GB of RAM and an SSD: Steam’s page lists these general requirements for both the minimum and recommended tiers. The minimum names a Core i5-8500 or Ryzen 5 3500 and a GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB or Radeon RX 5500 XT 8 GB. The recommended tier names a Core i7-8700 or Ryzen 5 5500 and a GeForce RTX 2060 Super or Radeon RX 6600.
- Minimum: Windows 11, Core i5-8500 / Ryzen 5 3500, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1660 6 GB / RX 5500 XT 8 GB, DirectX 12, SSD.
- Recommended: Windows 11, Core i7-8700 / Ryzen 5 5500, 16 GB RAM, RTX 2060 Super 8 GB / RX 6600 8 GB, DirectX 12, SSD.
The game’s Steam page doesn’t list a disk size: Steam itself shows the install size before you download. Data verified October 18, 2026.
Resident Evil Requiem system requirements in a table
The values come from the game’s Steam page, where the publisher posts them. The “Note” row carries the text from that page.
| Parameter | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 11, 64-bit | Windows 11, 64-bit |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500 | Intel Core i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 5 5500 |
| RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB |
| Graphics card | GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB or Radeon RX 5500 XT 8 GB | GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8 GB or Radeon RX 6600 8 GB |
| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Storage | SSD required; size not listed | SSD required; size not listed |
| Note | 1080p with upscaling (native resolution 640p), 30 FPS; frame rate may drop under heavy load | 1080p with upscaling (native resolution 720p), 60 FPS; frame rate may drop under heavy load |
What 640p and 720p mean in the notes
For both tiers, the publisher says the 1080p image is produced with upscaling: the native resolution is 640p on the minimum and 720p on the recommended tier, and the image is then scaled to 1080p. The target frame rates are 30 and 60 FPS respectively. The page doesn’t say which upscaler is meant.
This matters when you judge your PC: the stated 1080p at 30 or 60 FPS is achieved with scaling enabled, not at native 1080p.
Windows 11 and SSD: two hard requirements
Both columns list Windows 11 with the note “64bit required.” Steam’s page doesn’t mention Windows 10. The notes mark the SSD as required. If your system or drive doesn’t qualify, sort those out first: the guide to upgrading to Windows 11 and the HDD vs SSD comparison.
Ray tracing and upscaling: what’s officially known
The table has no separate ray tracing requirements. The publisher’s notes for the March 6, 2026 update show that the PC version includes ray tracing and upscaling features: that update fixed performance issues with ray tracing and visual artifacts during upscaling. The table doesn’t let you estimate the ray tracing load in advance.
How to check your PC
All the data you need is in Windows itself. The steps are based on Microsoft’s help pages: device information and the DirectX diagnostic tool.
Make sure you have Windows 11 and 16 GB of memory
Open Settings → System → About. Under “Windows specifications,” check the edition and version; under “Device specifications,” check the processor, RAM amount and 64-bit status. If you have less than 16 GB of RAM or run Windows 10, your PC doesn’t meet Steam’s requirements.
Result: Windows version, processor and RAM amount are visible.
Find your graphics card
Press Win + R and type dxdiag. The Display tab shows the graphics card name, and the System tab shows the DirectX version. Compare the model with the table: for example, a GTX 1660 6 GB is the lower bound of the minimum.
Result: Graphics card model and DirectX version are known.
Check your drive
Settings → System → Storage shows your free space. The drive type is visible in Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) on the Performance tab after you select the disk. If the drive is an HDD, move the game to an SSD.
Result: Clear whether it’s an SSD or HDD and how much free space you have.
What to do if your PC is weaker
- Turn on upscaling and lower the preset. The publisher’s minimum is built around 1080p with upscaling and a 30 FPS target: a lower internal resolution means less load on the graphics card.
- Don’t keep old drivers. In the March 27, 2026 update, the publisher fixed visual bugs that occurred with some graphics card drivers, so install current drivers.
- Memory can’t be fixed with settings. 16 GB is already listed for the minimum, so if you have less, you’ll need to add memory modules.
- If the hardware is the bottleneck. Consider a replacement: see the graphics card roundup or the processor roundup.
