CD PROJEKT RED also warns that the game is demanding on both the graphics card and the processor, and that DirectX requires the latest version of DirectX 12. For Dolby Atmos on PC, you need matching audio hardware.

Why other sites show different numbers

CD PROJEKT RED’s page also keeps the earlier requirements for version 1.63: for example, a minimum of Core i5-3570K or FX-8310, 8 GB RAM, GTX 970 or RX 470 and 70 GB on HDD (with an SSD recommendation). They haven’t applied since update 2.0, but the old 2020 tables still turn up on third-party sites. Go by the current values above.

Phantom Liberty, Mac and Steam Deck

  • Phantom Liberty. According to CD PROJEKT RED’s page, the tables above apply to both the base game and the expansion, starting with update 2.0. The expansion’s Steam page lists the same processor, graphics card and memory for the minimum and recommended tiers, and 35 GB of storage for the expansion itself on SSD.
  • Mac. Steam lists separate requirements for macOS: an Apple processor and macOS 15.5 or later. The minimum is an M1 chip, 16 GB of memory and 92 GB of space; the recommended tier is M3 Pro, 18 GB and 92 GB.
  • Steam Deck. As of October 18, 2026, Valve lists the game on Steam as Verified.

How to check your PC

Three checks cover every row in the tables. The steps are based on Microsoft’s help: device information and the DirectX diagnostic tool.

Check Windows, processor and memory

Open Settings → System → About. Under “Device specifications,” find the processor, RAM amount and 64-bit status. You need 12 GB of memory for the minimum and 16 GB for the recommended tier; higher tiers need 20–24 GB.

Result: You know the system version, processor and RAM amount.

Identify the graphics card and VRAM

Press Win + R and type dxdiag. The Display tab shows the graphics card, and the System tab shows the DirectX version. The CD PROJEKT RED table also lists VRAM, so check both values.

Result: You know the graphics card model and the VRAM amount.

Make sure the game fits on an SSD

In Settings, open System → Storage: you need at least 70 GB of free space. Task Manager shows the drive type (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) on the Performance tab. If the game is already installed on an HDD, move it using the guide “How to Move a Steam Game to Another Drive”.

Result: You know where to store the game and whether 70 GB is available.

What to do if your PC is weaker

  • Start without ray tracing. Ray-traced tiers need a more powerful graphics card: for RT Minimum, the table names an RTX 2060, RX 6800 XT or Arc A750, while the regular minimum uses a GTX 1060 6 GB, RX 580 8 GB or Arc A380.
  • Lower the preset and resolution. CD PROJEKT RED’s minimum is built around low settings at 1080p and 30 FPS, and the recommended tier around high settings at 1080p and 60 FPS.
  • Remember frame generation. The RT Overdrive figures assume DLSS Frame Generation is enabled: without it, results may differ.
  • Keep your drivers updated. CD PROJEKT RED’s page recommends updating your graphics card drivers regularly to make full use of your hardware.
  • Move the game to an SSD. HDDs aren’t supported; for a comparison of drives, see “HDD vs SSD”.
  • If you need an upgrade. Start with the graphics card roundup.
