How to choose hosting in Ukraine
Start with your needs: how many sites you’ll have, which CMS they’ll run on, and where your visitors are. Then check the five things below in the provider’s plan table: providers do list them, but not always where you can easily see them. A server close to your visitors
If your audience is in Ukraine, choose a Ukrainian data center: the closer the server, the faster the response. Here’s a benchmark from Google’s developer guide: a good time to first byte (TTFB) is 0.8 seconds or less, and a poor one is more than 1.8 seconds. The trial period is a convenient time to check it.
Annual price and renewal price
A “from” price often applies only when you pay for 2–3 years or to your first order. Cityhost’s Apartment plan costs from UAH 137.05 on a 36-month order, while renewal costs UAH 152.28 for the same term and UAH 253.80 month to month. At X-HOST.UA, annual versus monthly billing is UAH 160 versus UAH 200; at UH.ua, it’s UAH 197 versus UAH 267. Compare hosts on the same billing term.
PHP, database and WordPress
WordPress recommends PHP 8.3 or newer, MySQL 8.0+ or MariaDB 10.11+, and HTTPS support. The PHP 8.2 branch receives security fixes only until December 31, 2026 (per php.net), so for a new site, choose 8.3 or later.
Not every provider lists its database version. Hosting Ukraine and Cityhost show MySQL 8.4 in their plan tables, Hostpro lists MariaDB 10.6 in its Linux hosting specs, and HOSTiQ’s price table says “MySQL 5.x.x”, so it’s best to confirm details like these with support before you buy. If you haven’t picked a CMS yet, check its requirements the same way.
Backups and SSL
Hostpro, Cityhost, FREEhost.UA, Hosting Ukraine, HyperHost and MiroHost advertise daily backups. HOSTiQ makes backups every three days, X-HOST.UA twice a week, and UH.ua once a week, selling daily backups separately. Retention also varies: 14 days at FREEhost.UA and 15 days at MiroHost.
All ten providers offer free SSL, but not every host does: Ukrnames states outright on its hosting page that it doesn’t provide free SSL certificates.
“Unlimited” limits
“Unlimited” almost always comes with rules. At UH.ua, “unlimited” mailboxes and subdomains means 99 per account; Cityhost’s Apartment is capped at 5% daily CPU load and 150,000 files and folders, and HyperHost’s Mini at 10 concurrent connections and 150,000 files and folders. If your site runs into limits like these, a higher plan or a VPS will help.
Windows hosting in Ukraine
Windows hosting is for sites built on ASP.NET or using MS SQL databases; PHP sites, including WordPress, run fine on regular Linux hosting. In our top ten, Hostpro and UH.ua have Windows plans.
